Anchorage-based owner/operator start-up aims to be successful in the Family Center business by giving attention to autistic children. The design solution included an area centered around the “Rock the Spectrum” play, miniature town, coffee bar, and food service. Outfitting the generic neighborhood building would be built around repurposed shipping containers. Four shipping containers used for administrative offices, sales/check-in, coffee service, and food service. The arrangement of containers created a second level with an excellent line of sight of the entire facility and provided parent seating.
Kaser Design was contracted to work with owners for concept development, space planning, equipment layouts, and construction drawings.
