The Barrington Area Conservation Trust (BACT) is devoted to preserving the area’s rare and exceptional open spaces for current and future generations. 95% of the land in Illinois is private property. Located northwest of Chicago, BACT resides in the Flint Creek and Spring Creek Watersheds. Since 2001, BACT has preserved over 520 acres of land in the Barrington Area.

Kaser Design (KD) began working with BACT in 2019 to provide on-site interpretation of the property the organization maintains and conducts educational programming. In the last five years, KD has provided interpretation at Pederson Preserve and Katie’s Marsh. Sign programs have included one with a viewing deck and a pair of freestanding signs.
