Village Lakes is located in Frisco, Texas, just east of Lewisville Lake, within the Cottonwood Branch watershed. The master-planned community featuring over 3,000 resort-style homes was built between 2007 and 2014. The engineering and development team brought Kaser Design (KD) to interpret the pond stories. Positioned near the main entry, Village Lakes features two large ponds, one detention and one retention type.

The chief aim of the interpretive project was to communicate their importance, the differences between the two, and how they work. The total scope of services included content interpretation, illustration, text design, and delivery.
