Scope of Services

Intent
Services outlined and proposed, both written and/or implied, are to provide professional design, documentation and follow-through services for the goals and objectives set forth by owner. All services have the singular objective of improving identity, interest, visitation and appeal. All services will be coordinated with all project participants: Owner, architect, and all other project participants. We intend to design and deliver dynamic, intuitive and sustainable solutions.

Execution
Services and deliverables are structured to work from the overall "big picture” to the specific details. Completion of each phase will be punctuated with presentation submittal. Approval of submitted work is required prior to continuing. MKA is prepared to offer the following from Conceptual Design through to Implementation:

Each discipline takes in to account each element’s unique qualities as well as its commonality and relation to the whole. Below is an itemized list of our services and deliverables, along with the associated compensation fees.

Compensation Schedule
We agree to provide all the scheduled items and services for the fees listed above. Billing will be handled as follows:

Rates
Time associated with additional work, meetings, and travel beyond the scope of work identified in this proposal will be billed at applicable staff member rate plus expenses.

Reimbursable Expenses
Reimbursable expenses will be billed at 1.1 times the direct cost. The reimbursable costs are in addition to compensation for services and include, but are not limited to expenses incurred by the team as follows: Reproductions, Delivery, Communication, Travel, and submittal fees.

Not included:
Research and/or documentation of existing conditions
Any bond, certificates and/or filling fees image acquisition
Graphic production - this includes illustration creation and final art production.
Accuracy of any owner supplied information

Terms and Conditions

  • All contents in this proposal are based on provided facts, conditions and information presented as of the proposal submission date. Any changes to conditions or disclosure of information affecting the scope of work may result in additional costs.
  • MKA shall be relieved of any and all responsibility for any dimensional errors provided by others. In such an event, work associated with “correcting” error shall be considered extra.
  • Design submittals shall not be more than (1) distinct solution per item. Follow up development and/or revisions to be based on original submittal and not exceed (1) solution.
  • Requests for more than (1) solution on one item shall be considered extra.
  • Requests for additional revisions beyond the (1) shall be considered extra.
  • In the event of owner not accepting any of the original (1) offered solution, owner must provide clear and specific instructions for subsequent design and submittal. MKA shall execute revised solution using the owner description.
  • Any work described as “extra”, as listed above in (c 1, 2, and 3) will be performed at an hourly basis, by the appropriate staff member.
  • A system of check offs or sign offs will be employed as a method to signify approval and/or acceptance of the presented material on all work. Approvals must be made prior to proceeding on to the next phase. No work will occur in subsequent phases until a sign-off is given. Work demanded or requested outside of the described order must be agreed upon prior to start.
  • Once a phase has been concluded and work has progressed on the next phase, any demands or requests to go back, revisit, re-examine or redo, may result in additional cost. Additional cost shall include, but not limited to, material
  • and labor charges.
    Delays and/or schedule adjustments by other participating parties which impact the work scope defined in this document shall release MKA of the obligated finish date.
  • Delays and/or schedule adjustments by other participating parties which impact MKA schedule resulting in overtime costs and/or rush fees shall be considered extra and above and beyond original amount
  • Quantities of sets of review documents will be at owner’s request, plus two. One set for MKA’s permanent records and one for MKA in-house working sets.
  • Requests for documents (art, drawings, plans, descriptions, etc.) for use outside of the described intent may be considered extra and be subject to hourly labor charges.
  • Any submittal used in whole or in part for promotion must clearly indicate the source as being MKA
  • In event of cancellation or delay beyond 60 days, client/owner is responsible for covering all outstanding fees and costs incurred.
  • Invoices paid are to be paid in full upon receipt and be final, not subject to credit or negotiation
  • In the event a collection agency is retained, client shall be responsible for all cost associated with retaining and execution of the agency’s services.
